Note for Parents / Guardians / Students

The scholarships listed above are examples for planning and counselling. They are not promises. Students and parents must verify every scholarship directly from the official university or college source before applying.

The OSSD advantage is that the student can build strong Ontario Grade 12 U/M marks and a Canadian-style transcript while living in India. Strong final marks may help the student qualify for automatic, merit-based, and competitive scholarships, but each institution makes its own decision.

Parent / Student Friendly Message

  • OSSD is a Canadian high school diploma studied in English. Students complete English-medium courses, assignments, projects, presentations, quizzes, tests, and final evaluations.
  • Senior English courses such as ENG3U and ENG4U can help students show university-level English preparation.
  • Some universities and colleges may accept OSSD as part of the student’s English proficiency evidence. In some cases, IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, or Duolingo may be waived if the student meets the institution’s rules.
  • The strongest profile is usually 3–4 years of OSSD study, strong ENG4U marks, no ESL counted during the exemption period where required, and complete medium-of-instruction documentation.
